My Decent Half and I have embarked on a sketch challenge. One pencil sketch a night is the goal for now, but we'll see...

Since we didn't feel imaginative, we decided that "X-men" was to be the topic. We printed out a list of X-men and threw the names into a hat. The first name I pulled was - I kid you not - Wolverine. That just wasn't right. Back in the hat he went. Instead, we have:

Mermaid.

Practicing inking water texture. A fan-shaped brush turned out to be my friend. I used that, whatever tools I had on hand to fill in all the black, and grey brush pens for her skin.
